About the Author

Sherry Seto

Sherry Seto has experience in teaching English as a Second Language covering fundamental American English vocabulary and basic grammar concepts. In addition, she has experience working with children on the autism spectrum and those with learning differences.

She also homeschooled her elementary school-aged son, Chris, through high school, focusing on his passion in technology.

This included creating a varied curriculum that enabled him to start a business building computers and working on other technology-related projects for local clients. He later attended the university, becoming an engineer and a commercial pilot instructor.

After her son left home for college, Sherry taught adult ESL students. She needed English vocabulary and grammar books with engaging illustrations that supported basic text but found that there were no books that adequately fit her students’ unique needs and abilities at the time, which led her to write her own book.

Eventually, as more lessons were written and revisions made based on students’ feedback and Sherry’s own years of experience, one book became two volumes.

English Vocabulary and Grammar Basics, Volumes 1 and 2: Essential English for ESL and Others, Hundreds of Friendly Illustrations and Charts, Curriculum Guide for Teachers is now available to the public!

Both volumes are suitable for ESL adults and children or other English learners.

Sherry Seto lives in a woodsy suburb of St. Louis, Missouri with her husband, Steve, a retired aerospace engineer and their feisty sheltie, Fox. They have two married children (Chris’ older sister, Katie, is currently working on her PhD in Autism) and three adorable young grandchildren who fill their lives with joy.
